The Campion Academy Cougars won the Union College Invitational Volleyball Tournament 2015 two sets to none over the Midland Adventist Academy Mustangs on Saturday night, Oct. 17.
The tournament got underway on Thursday, Oct. 15, continuing the seeded pool play format adopted in the 2013 tournament to accommodate more teams. Games began at 1:30 a.m., featuring 11 teams divided into three pools. Each team played three games in their pool to determine placement in four pools for the seeded pool play on Friday. The top three teams from each pool on Thursday became a pool on Friday, the second place teams became another pool, the third place teams a third pool and the fourth place teams rounded out the final pool. The Friday games determined seeding for the championship tournament bracket on Friday afternoon and Saturday night.
